A Child’s Wish of Greater New Orleans
March 30, 2020
A Child’s Wish of Greater New Orleans is a Louisiana based non-profit organization that grants the wishes of critically ill children. Lenny Alsfeld (an advisor in our New Orleans branch) is a founder and director. A Child’s Wish sent Londyn and Hartley to Disneyworld for their wish. The girls were born with a number of skeletal disorders including craniocervical junction, basilar invagination, complex chiari malformation, and a syrinx on the spine.
Lenny, Londyn and Hartley were featured on the local news in February to promote a fundraiser benefitting the organization. To watch the interview click https://www.fox8live.com/video/2020/02/04/child-wish-fundraiser/

Our New Orleans office collected school supplies for children who are in foster care in the local area. The donations were distributed by CASA (court-appointed special advocates) to 2nd through 5th graders in need. CASA is an organization of volunteers who advocate in court on behalf of children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
We invited employees to bring their children to the branch to help sort supplies and stuff backpacks. It was a great day for all involved!

RJ Cares
While Raymond James Cares is a year-long community involvement initiative, one month each year is officially designated as "Raymond James Cares Month" – a period of 31 days when our advisors and associates team up to give back to their communities.
In support of #RJCares this May, several of our branches volunteered their time at local food banks to assist with food sorting and packaging.
In Baton Rouge, our group leant a hand at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Their mission is to feed the hungry in Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes by providing food and educational outreach through faith-based and other community partners.
In New Orleans, we partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank. Second Harvest leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education, and disaster response. They provide food and support to 700+ community partners and programs across 23 parishes. Their staff and volunteers distribute the equivalent of more than 32 million meals to 210,000+ people a year.
We were honored to have the privilege of working with these fantastic organizations!
