Raymond James welcomes North Dakota advisors managing $180 million in assets

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently welcomed financial advisors Jim Dunkel, CFP®, and Sarah Dunkel to Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS) – the firm’s independent advisor channel – according to Kirk Bell, Central division director for RJFS.

Based in Fargo, North Dakota, the pair operate as Midwest Wealth and provide personalized financial planning to a variety of clients including farmers, business owners, families and retirees. They join from LPL Financial, where they managed approximately $180 million in client assets.

“After visiting the Raymond James home office, Sarah and I knew it was the clear choice for our independent practice. The firm lives out its excellent reputation on a daily basis, while its philosophy and culture align with how we want to run our business and serve our clients. The innovative technology is also a major win to help elevate our service,” said Jim.

Jim has provided financial planning services to clients since 1994 and most recently spent seven years at LPL Financial. He is committed to continuous education as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. In addition to his professional experience working directly with business owner clients, he has taught numerous business courses, including graduate finance classes at the University of Mary – Fargo Center.

Sarah followed in the footsteps of Jim, her father-in-law, to become a financial advisor in 2022. She’s actively pursuing her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional designation.
