Raymond James welcomes Florida advisor team with nearly $500 million in assets
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently welcomed financial advisors John Meffert, Warren “Jud” Scroggie and Ross Davis to Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS) – the firm’s independent advisor channel – according to Todd Gartrell, Southeast division director for RJFS.
The advisors, along with client service associate Amanda Bryan, operate as Scroggie Meffert Davis and Associates in Ocala, Florida. Together they provide personalized investment strategies and financial guidance to a breadth of clients, including business owners, healthcare professionals, family offices and retirees. They most recently managed approximately $490 million in client assets at Merrill Lynch.

This partnership will also bring service closer to our clients, with the opportunity to serve them more effectively with highly customized guidance and strategies,” said Meffert.
Meffert brings over 20 years of industry experience and was affiliated with Merrill Lynch for the last decade. A Florida native, he is a graduate of the University of Florida with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree and subsequently obtained a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law.
With 25 years of financial services experience, Scroggie began advising clients in 1999 and has spent the majority of his career at his previous firm. He holds a sociology degree with a minor in finance from Benedictine College.
Davis is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional and launched his financial advising career in 2015 before joining Merrill Lynch in 2019. Also a Florida native, Davis graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Arts, then from the University of Alabama with a Master of Arts and finally from the University of West Florida with a Master of Business Administration.
