Raymond James continues Wisconsin Complex growth, welcomes advisor team managing over $450 million

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently welcomed financial advisors David “Dave” Gwidt, CRC®, and Paul Gwidt, CFP®, to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm’s employee advisor channel – in Racine, Wisconsin, according to Dominic Prioli, Great Lakes regional director for RJA.

The father-son advisor duo operates as Gwidt Wealth Management Group of Raymond James and is joined by senior registered client associate Geoff Grabiel. Together, the group offers a robust wealth management experience personalized for their clients, which includes business owners, sudden wealth beneficiaries, families and individuals living in or planning for retirement. They previously managed more than $450 million in client assets at Wells Fargo.

“Raymond James’ reputation and client-focused culture were compelling factors which attracted us to the firm,” said Dave, managing director. “The fact that it’s a pure wealth management firm and the right size was essential. Moreover, the firm is deliberate in its efforts to equip advisors with the technology, resources and support to promote productivity and advisor freedom.”

A native of Milwaukee, Dave has spent nearly 35 years helping clients pursue their financial goals. He began his seasoned career at Lehman Brothers before transitioning to Salomon Smith Barney in 1993 and Wells Fargo in 2000. Dave is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he earned a degree in finance, and is a Certified Retirement Counselor®. Additionally, he was selected among Forbes’ Best in State Wealth Advisors in consecutive years from 2020-2022.

Paul’s six-year career in financial services spans roles in accounting and wealth management. He previously worked with a public accounting firm and was a practicing CPA until joining Wells Fargo as a financial advisor in 2020. Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional.

The arrival of the Gwidt Wealth Management Group underscores the continued recruiting success for the Raymond James Wisconsin Complex, managed by Gary Sievewright, AIF®. The complex also added an additional three Milwaukee-area financial advisors – Justin Peterman, Greg Branson and Stephanie Friemoth – with a combined $250 million in client assets since November.

“Raymond James’ emphasis on the client-advisor relationship, paired with leading resources, support and innovative technology, has helped drive our recruiting success in Milwaukee and surrounding communities,” said Prioli. “We welcome Dave, Paul and all of our recently joined advisors to Raymond James and can’t wait to see what they will achieve.”

The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 34,925 nominations, more than 6,550 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience.
