Raymond James adds experienced insurance sector banker to its Financial Services Investment Banking practice
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. ─ Raymond James has strengthened its capabilities to serve clients operating in the insurance industry with the addition of Ashutosh Rathore as managing director in the Financial Services Investment Banking group. Rathore has been serving insurance sector clients since 2007 and has a deep understanding of property and casualty, life insurance, and insurance distribution and services verticals.
Rathore has managed important strategic advisory and capital raise mandates for a wide range of insurance industry participants, including public companies, mutual companies and financial sponsor owned private companies. His addition to the team will bolster Raymond James’ long-term track record of service to the insurance industry in both the debt and equity capital markets, as well as strategic advisory.
“Ashu is a highly regarded banker with a proven ability to add value in assisting clients to achieve their corporate objectives,” said John Roddy, head of the Financial Services Investment Banking practice. “I’m excited to have Ashu join Vice Chairman Pat DeLacey to further develop our dialogue with both new and existing clients, particularly as we enter a very impactful time for this market. His leadership, industry knowledge, transaction experience and relationships across the sector ensure that our clients will receive world-class advice and support related to their capital formation and M&A initiatives.”
Rathore joins Raymond James from Guggenheim Securities, where he was a managing director in the firm’s insurance practice. He has previously held investment banking roles serving insurance sector clients at Greenhill, UBS and Wells Fargo. Rathore completed his formal business education at the Nirma Institute of Management, India, and received his MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
“The depth and breadth of Raymond James’ capital markets platform, combined with its reputation for outstanding, client-focused advice in complex advisory assignments, is the perfect fit for me to continue to provide value-added service to our clients in the insurance sector,” Rathore said. “This is a transformational period for many parts of the insurance industry, and I look forward to contributing to the success of our clients and the firm.”
