Jim Buie

Jim is a senior banker with Raymond James and has 34 years of experience in investment banking and government and has served as investment banker on more than $60.2 billion in transactions with an emphasis in K-12 school issuance. Since joining the firm in 2008, he has represented Raymond James as lead or co-lead banker on 319 school districts totaling over $16.3 billion. 

Prior to joining Raymond James, Jim worked four years as an investment banker with Bank of America. His experience also includes serving as executive director of the Texas Bond Review Board, overseeing approximately $11 billion of debt issuance on behalf of the State of Texas and as Senior Bond Analyst for the State of Oklahoma. Jim is one of the few bankers that has served as an issuer and as an underwriter. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Austin College and a Master of Business Administration from Midwestern State University. He has served on the Board of the Municipal Advisory Council of Texas. Jim holds an SIE and FINRA licenses in Series 7, 63 and 79 and is a Series 53 Municipal Securities Principal.
