Raymond James welcomes financial advisors managing $230 million in Ohio
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James continues its growth in the North by welcoming financial advisors Meghan Foley and Anthony Anderson to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm’s employee advisor channel – according to Bill Theis, Mid-American regional director for RJA.
Based in Broadview Heights, Ohio, the advisors operate as Shultz Group of Raymond James and are joined by senior client service associate Rani Thakkar. Among their clients are high-net-worth business owners, families and individuals planning for or living in retirement. The group was previously affiliated with Merrill Lynch, where they managed approximately $230 million in client assets.
“We were drawn to Raymond James because of the firm’s ability to serve affluent clients with ease and efficiency while streamlining our operational processes,” said Foley, senior vice president, wealth management. “The firm’s expertise in catering to advisors is admirable, but I believe what truly sets its offering apart is its cutting-edge infrastructure and intuitive technology.”
A 22-year veteran of the financial services industry, Foley was recently named to Forbes’ 2023 Best-In-State Women Advisors ranking. She is a graduate of Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and embodies a deep commitment to continuous education. She is a Certified Plan Fiduciary AdvisorTM, a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® certificant and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation.

Further, the breadth and depth of the firm’s research and investment platforms provide us access to more robust client models,” said Anderson, senior vice president, investments.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Anderson began his career as a wealth manager and financial planner in 2010 at LM Kohn & Company. He subsequently spent over a decade with Merrill Lynch, earning the company’s portfolio manager qualification and being named to Forbes’ Next Gen Best-In-State Wealth Advisors in 2019 during his tenure. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. This ranking is based upon the period from 02/04/22 to 09/30/22 and was released on 02/01/2023. Research Summary (As of February, 2023) 38,314 nominations were received and approximately 1,700 women won based on thresholds. SHOOK Research considered advisors born in 1980 or later with a minimum 4 years relevant experience. Advisors have built their own practices and lead their teams; joined teams and are viewed as future leadership; or a combination of both. Ranking algorithm is based on qualitative measures derived from telephone and in-person interviews and surveys: service models, investing process, client retention, industry experience, review of compliance records, firm nominations, etc.; and quantitative criteria, such as assets under management and revenue generated for their firms. Investment performance is not a criteria because client objectives and risk tolerances vary, and advisors rarely have audited performance reports. This ranking is based upon the period from 3/31/18-3/31/19 and was released on 6/25/19. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research, LLC.
