Raymond James welcomes Texas advisor duo managing $328 million

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James recently welcomed financial advisors Wilson Thannisch, CFP®, J.D., and Mark Thannisch to Raymond James & Associates (RJA) – the firm’s employee advisor channel – in Austin, Texas, according to Chris Davitt, Western Gulf regional director for RJA.

The father-son advisor duo, along with client service associate Caitlin Kornblum, operate as Thannisch Wealth Management of Raymond James and provide personalized financial planning services to clients, ranging from business owners to endowments and foundations. They previously managed approximately $328 million in client assets at Wells Fargo.

“After much thought, planning and due diligence, we felt that a transition to Raymond James provided us the best possible opportunity to enhance our ability to serve our clients, now and well into the future,” Wilson, first vice president, investments. “We are thrilled with the many positive changes this transition has brought so far and eager to witness the full spectrum of benefits this move will have for our clients and us.”

Wilson’s professional career spans numerous years in the financial and legal fields. Before joining Raymond James, he was a financial advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors for five years. He also previously spent nearly seven years helping clients with their real estate and business legal needs as a practicing attorney. Wilson is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University.

“One of the primary reasons we chose Raymond James was our confidence that we can continue to provide the full-service offerings our clients expect while enjoying the accountability and personal guidance of a large independent financial firm,” said Mark, managing director, wealth management. ”We can’t wait to see what we will be able to achieve for our clients while backed by the firm’s robust market research, support and technology offerings.”

Mark is a seasoned financial services professional with more than 37 years of experience helping clients pursue their financial goals. He was named a Forbes Best In State Wealth Advisor in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. He was previously a managing director of investments at Wells Fargo Advisors and served at the firm for nearly two decades. Earlier in his career, Mark held positions at Prudential and Wachovia Securities (predecessor firms of Wells Fargo Advisors), Western Bank, First National Bank of Midland, the Texas Department of Banking, Capitol Securities, and Morgan Keegan & Co. The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, LLC, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years of experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of approximately 34,925 nominations, more than 6,550 advisors received the award. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its financial advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Raymond James is not affiliated with Forbes or SHOOK Research, LLC.
