Your 401(k) Plan is Working - But Your Advisor is Not?
Sometimes your retirement plan can be working fine for the participating employees, but the staff employee you’ve assigned to handle the details isn’t getting much service from the advisor who helped you set up the plan initially.
Here are some signs to watch for:
- The plan administrator/TPA communicates with your HR or accounting people frequently, but the investment advisor rarely offers any service
- Your advisor doesn’t schedule annual plan review meetings
- The investment lineup in your plan hasn’t been periodically analyzed to determine if additional funds may be needed or if any under-performers should be dropped
- Your Investment Policy Statement hasn’t been updated for years
- Your advisor doesn’t participate in enrollment meetings or offer employee education meetings
Sound familiar? It may be that you need a new advisor. You can keep your existing plan but align yourself with an advisor who provides you with these services. Call us – the switch is easy.
