Jonathan Cohen, Managing Director of Investments, and Branch Manager has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry and specializes in financial planning, investment strategies and asset allocation. He is a member of the Raymond James Chairman’s Council*, an honor awarded to a select few within the firm.

His goal for his clients is financial independence, so they can have the freedom to do what they want, when they want. He is passionate about making a difference in his clients’ lives and having a positive influence that can last for generations. He is known not only for his integrity and common sense when it comes to all financial matters, but a sense of humor that complements his more serious side.

Jon began his career in 1988 at Drexel Burnham in New York City and moved to Florida in 1991 to work together with his father, who he calls his inspiration and role model.

Jon earned a bachelor’s degree in political communications from George Washington University. As a postgraduate, he completed the Wealth Management Certification Program of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and the Securities Industry Association’s Branch Manager Development Program. Jon holds his Series 9,10,7.63 and 65 licenses.

He has received the designation of Accredited Wealth Management Advisor from the College for Financial Planning and is certified in point-and-figure technical analysis from Dorsey, Wright & Associates, as well as his Level II of the Instituted of Investment Management Consulting Certification Series. IIMC members are selected based on a demonstrated commitment to pursuing a consulting approach in managing and growing their practice. **

In 2023, as in several prior years, Jon was honored by being named to the Forbes List of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, by Shook Research. *** That same year, he was listed amongst the 100 Solo Advisors to Watch in AdvisorHub 2023****

He is deeply rooted in philanthropic endeavors locally, and internationally. His involvement in a clean water project through ASOH***** led to a chicken coop program which he personally made possible for the Masweng Primary School in South Africa. Jon is a strong ally and advocate for the Ali Forney Center, ****** which provides services to the LGBTQ+ homeless youth of New York City. He has recently been appointed as a council member of the Pride Financial Advisors Network******* at Raymond James and was awarded the Ally Award for 2023********.

Today, Jon lives in Jupiter with his wife, Giselle. They have three children. Their oldest, is the 3rd generation of the Cohen & Son Team. She and her husband have recently welcomed their first child. Their middle child lives in Los Angeles where they drum for “Guppy the Band”, models, and is a Customer Service rep for an online gaming and collectibles company. Their youngest, resides in NYC as an associate for a major international bank.

********The 2023 Pride Financial Advisors Network Ally Award is an internal recognition given to an associate or financial advisor who does not identify as being part of the LGBT+ community, but actively supports and advocates for LGBT+ individual and issues.
