Giving back to the community we love
We’re well established in Jupiter/Palm Beach Gardens and proud to be involved with several charities that align with our values and mission.
Jon Cohen helps support the organization as a member of its advisory board. As an ally, he advocates for safe and inclusive shelters that provide affirming environment and a strong foundation for its homeless youth. Founded in 2002, this 24 hour program provides food, shelter, education, and health care for the LGBTQ community.
A Spring of Hope began in 2005, as a clean water program for schools in the impoverished provinces of South Africa. It has then become an all encompassing curriculum for school age children with hands on learning of agriculture, reading, writing, and career training to name a few. As part of their advocacy, Jon and Gisella Cohen sponsored the organization’s first chicken coop, supporting a new pilot program. The coop provides vital protein to the students and fertilizer to the gardens. Surplus eggs grants funds supporting after school programs. Aside from the dedication from the School, a chicken is Jon’s namesake.
Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization
Cohen & Son has been supporting the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization for 22 years. Bernard’s granddaughter, Jon and Giselle’s niece, was born with Down Syndrome and have been supporting Gold Coast since her birth. The Cohen family look forward to their yearly walk to raise money for this foundation.
The Pap Corps, Champions of Cancer Research
The Pap Corps, Champions for Cancer Research is one of the largest all-volunteer fundraising organizations in South Florida. There are more than 50 chapters and 20,000 members dedicated to supporting research for all types of cancer at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only academic hospital in the community.
Through five programs in Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Food Bank helps create food security for a diverse range of at-risk populations including children, seniors and families, through more than 200 partner agencies.
Other organizations we have supported include the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, MADD, The American Cancer Association, PGA Reach, Habitat for Humanity, Homeless Coalition and the Loggerhead Marine Life Center.
