Early Beginnings

Bill Waters II has had a lifelong passion for boating/sailing since his first boat ride at 6 days old! His parents, Bill and Mary Waters, incorporated boating, fishing, and diving into much of Bill's childhood and family trips. As Bill got older he learned to race/sail for the St. Petersburg Yacht Club Sailing Team and was a competition wakeboard and water skier. In high school, he began work in different commercial marine businesses and charter operations. Shortly after Bill turned 18 he became a United States Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer, licensed as an Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels, and holds his Coast Guard 6 Pack License.

Bill and his wife Elisa first met at the St Petersburg Yacht Club, and Bill is currently serving on the Board of Directors as well as various Yacht Club subcommittees. Before they had children, Bill and Elisa owned and operated a high performance offshore catamaran, where they traveled the country participating in poker runs and charity events for kids. After having 2 children, Hailey and William III, they have adjusted their schedules spending family time on their center sonsole and taking longer voyages on their larger sport yacht.

Boating as a business

As Bill's career path lead him into a successful Wealth Management and Financial Planning business owner, his passion for yachting/sailing has remained. He specializes in working with current and future boat owners, helping them understand and integrate their passions into successful long term financial plans. As a multi-boat owner, he can personally speak to the intricacies and details of boat/yacht ownership, whether for commercial or personal use. For some clients, turning a boat into a business, can drastically help offset costs and depreciation. Like all businesses, there are many factors to consider including purchasing, financing strategy, tax planning, insuring, maintenance, usage, storage etc. Bill has leveraged his years of experience on and off the water to help clients/prospects sort through these questions with qualified professionals and strategic financial planning.
