A Few of the Finer Things - December 2016
Eight years ago when I wanted to get as far away from “Big Wall Street” as I could, I visited several smaller, regional financial service firms that would potentially be a good fit both for me and for all of you. When my father and I visited Raymond James, we met with many people from various departments to help us get a feel for the products and services that were available. Needless to say, we were most comfortable with Raymond James and I have had a wonderful existence since moving here in January 2009.
One of the people I met back on that fateful day was a woman named Kelly Hughes. Kelly worked in the Asset Management Services (AMS) area and my father and I were very impressed with her. She helped me navigate the many managed money programs that were available at Raymond James-some of which I used already and others that she suggested I look into as a better alternative to what I was using at my previous firm. Over the years I have maintained a very productive working relationship with Kelly-I could always count on her for a valid opinion or a second set of eyes that I trusted to look over a certain client situation that I was considering. She always understood exactly what I was looking for and always had a good feel for what type of risk tolerance I was willing to accept. She has skillfully kept me up to date on new money managers or new disciplines that became available on our AMS platform that she felt would be appropriate for my clients.
Several months ago, I asked Kelly if she ever thought about being a Financial Advisor since she was so good at what she does (in her current position she is already licensed)…and if she would ever consider moving to Arizona and be part of my team! She has always enjoyed interactions with clients (much more fun than dealing with advisors!) and after some deliberation, she decided to take me up on my offer…so it is with a great deal of excitement that I introduce Kelly Hughes as a fellow Financial Advisor with Weiss Wealth Strategies of Raymond James! She will be moving here shortly and will be here full time beginning on January 9, 2017.
Kelly started at Raymond James in 2000, training Financial Advisors on new technology platforms, and then moved over to Asset Management in 2004. At AMS she was able to use her sharp analytical skills and her vast understanding of financial markets to benefit advisors like myself and I am thrilled that she will be bringing her incredible skill set to work with me and with all of you on a front-facing basis.
Please join me in welcoming Kelly to Weiss Wealth Strategies! You locals can do so in person on Saturday, December 10th at our Holiday Open House (6-10 PM) where she will be joining us…she is very excited to meet all of you and to get started on this next chapter!
