A Few of the Finer Things - August 2015
Lauren and Patti have decided to write this month’s Finer Things because we know that Gary is far too humble to share his exciting news.
When you think of Gary Weiss, you probably describe him as “My Financial Advisor” or “My Money Manager”-many of you think of him as a coach, an expert, a friend. Those of us who have had the honor of working with him also think of him as a leader, a supporter and a role model.
Gary is very involved in giving back to his community. He has been a loyal and passionate supporter of the Valley of the Sun JCC for many years as well as an active supporter of other organizations both in the Jewish community and the greater Phoenix general community at large.
We are very pleased to announce that Gary was recently selected as the recipient of the 2015 Irv Shuman Award by the Valley of the Sun JCC! As the JCC states, “The Irv Shuman Award is presented to an individual who demonstrates the spirit of tzedakah (Hebrew for charity/giving) in our community-someone who demonstrates commitment, passion, service and leadership within the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community. This person also serves as a role model for others and has demonstrated a significant, positive impact on individuals within the community. This person inspires others to be engaged and makes a difference in our community.”
Gary will be honored at “Casino Night at the J” on Saturday, October 17th. The event is being chaired by his siblings and their spouses, Andi & Scott Weiss and Laurie & David Kline. We would love for any of you who are able to come join in the celebration—more information can be found at JCC Casino Night.
Please join us in congratulating Gary on this award. He truly exemplifies all that this award is meant to honor!
