Building a financial plan tailored specifically to you
A customized financial plan serves as the "how-to" for pursuing and potentially achieving your goals. Our process gives us an orderly way to identify relevant strategies for moving forward and fully addressing your needs. Here are the basic steps that outline the process we use for building your financial plan.
-
The first time we sit down together is an opportunity to get to know one another better. This is your opportunity to ask us questions and let us know what you hope to accomplish. We'll share our investment philosophy and how we'll work together.
-
We'll build an understanding of your personal goals, current financial situation, investment experience and risk tolerance. We'll also make you aware of our capabilities and explain the services we offer that can help you meet your objectives.
-
Next, we will analyze what you've shared with us in order to customize your financial plan. This step may include collaborating with your other professional advisors such as your accountant and lawyer. We present our recommendations to you, answer your questions, consider alternatives and outline the steps we need to take to implement your plan.
-
Now it's time to build a plan that addresses your financial goals and takes into consideration important aspects such as planning for retirement, saving for college, managing cash flow and risks, and tax planning.
-
With your approval, we will execute your customized plan using the extensive research and resources available to us through Raymond James. This involves the selection of specific account types, investment products and optional services, and the handling of all necessary paperwork. When necessary, we will also work with your other advisors such as your accountant or attorney.
-
Once implemented, we will continually monitor the progress of your plan relative to your goals. We accomplish this by providing ongoing reporting of your account activity and by conducting periodic reviews. We believe in taking a long-term approach to investing, free from emotional reactions to short-term shifts in the markets. Instead, we prefer to make careful revisions to your plan based on your personal circumstances. A key to this step is keeping us abreast of any significant changes in your life.
