Our Story

The plaque on my desk says, “Live a great story.” I have been serving the financial needs of individuals, families and business owners for more than nine years, and my focus as your financial advisor and as a Certified Financial Planner professional is to serve you by learning what’s most important to you and helping you achieve it so that you can live your story. I use my deliberate process and a comprehensive approach to build personalized strategies for you based on your goals and your comfort with risk. I partner with you over the long term to help you on track. Also, I stay in close contact with you and your tax and legal professionals.

I grew up in rural Iowa and have worked since I was eight. I was a saver – but not an investor – until a Naval Academy roommate taught me the power of investing in the stock market. I learned to invest “with the end in mind,” using a written plan to attempt to achieve my long-term goals, with the investments as a tool – not as the focus – of my plan. I also learned that I enjoyed helping others plan and invest for their long-term goals.

My passions are my family, my friends, volunteering, hiking and serving our clients. A lifelong Cubs and Bears fan, I also cheer the Sounders and Silvertips. As a family, we enjoy the theater, science and history museums and travel, which we experienced when I joined the Navy “to see the world.” During my Navy career, I visited over 40 countries on six continents and learned that the world is a very small, connected place.

If these quotes sound familiar, you and I may be a good fit for each other:

– “I don’t have the time or the inclination to manage my investments.”

– “I wonder if my spouse will be OK financially after I am gone.”

– “I wonder if I’m on track for retirement or if there is more I can do.”

– “I wonder if I can mitigate what I’m paying in taxes.”

– “I wonder if there is anyone who cares about me and my goals. I don't want to be a ‘number’ to someone.”

We enjoy helping our clients live their stories and achieve their goals. If you think we might be a good fit for you, we'd be honored if you would give us a call.
