As a U.S. citizen born in Pune, India, Girish is actively involved in the Maharashtrian community, both locally and on a national scale.
Girish served as Chairman Board of Trustees of BMM (Brihan Maharashtra Mandal), a non-profit organization from 2013 to 2015. He also served as President of BMM, whose aim is to preserve, promote and celebrate the Marathi culture in the United States. Prior to his position as President, he served on the Executive Committee and also as the organization's Treasurer.
Girish is honored to be associated with the Charitable Foundation of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, or AAPI, as it is commonly known. The AAPI Charitable Foundation is committed to serving the poorest of the poor by funding fifteen free clinics in different states in India, serving a base of over a million patients annually.
Also on a national scale, Girish is associated with the Maharashtra Foundation . The mission of the foundation is to reduce poverty in India via technology, education and entrepreneurship.
Locally, Girish is associated with the Hindu Jain Temple and Tri State Association of Physicians of Indian Origin or TAPI, as it is commonly known, both located in Pittsburgh.
