Committed to our community
It is critically important for us as a team to give back to our community. We believe our community deserves to share in our success – and that giving back means giving of ourselves. We choose to give back whenever we can. Here are some of the worthy organizations and charitable causes we support.
Innovation Africa water project
We are thrilled to share that our Innovation Africa water project in South Africa in Ehlangwini Village has been officially completed and that approximately 4,000 community members now have safe and clean water for the first time in their lives! Clean water is flowing in the village!
The community members were truly overjoyed and the trainees who participated in the construction process were proud of their contribution. Their newfound skills will not only help them with future employment opportunities but will help with the long-term sustainability of the water project as we have now ensured that members of this village will know how to maintain the system and conduct any small repairs that may be required in the years to come.
Here is a link to the donor page where you will be able to track live, the amount of water pumped and consumed each and every day!
We are so grateful for the support of all those who donated to this meaningful initiative and to our firm Raymond James. As we’ve said, it takes a village to help a village! At Steckler Wealth Management Group, we are deeply committed to making an impact however we can and supporting organizations and projects both locally and internationally.
United Way
“Our entire team – and Raymond James as a whole – supports the United Way. We are proud to participate in our annual campaign every year and support local organizations that mean the most to us. Every dollar that we donate is matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000 from the firm. We are paying it forward!”
Funding the Future
“I’m very passionate about financial literacy for kids. As someone who grew up with no guidance on how to make smart financial decisions or even understand basic concepts, I want to do my part to help kids get educated and hopefully make wise choices. I have supported Funding the Future for years and have partnered with Miami-Dade County public schools as well as by sponsoring and hosting large financial literacy events for middle and high school students. We have reached thousands and thousands of kids!”
Prostate Cancer Foundation
“After a long battle, my father died of prostate cancer in 2018. I cannot express how close with him I was. I think of him every single day and wish that no family would have to lose anyone to this type of cancer as it is often treatable. My family and I are proud supporters of this organization and the good work they do.”
Alzheimer’s Association
“My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease several years ago. We had to transition her into a skilled care facility as she now requires a high level of support. As her memory has worsened over time, the Alzheimer’s Association has provided me with a lot of valuable resources and information. They are doing meaningful work to help people suffering with the disease as well as caregivers and family members. I am proud to support the good work they are doing.”
Save LGBTQ
“Serving on the board of SAVE has been an incredibly meaningful experience for me as I’ve had the opportunity to support South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community through advocacy and community outreach. SAVE’s mission is to promote, protect and defend equality for people in South Florida who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer. There is a major need for an organization like this and I am so proud to see the progress made in our community.”
The Humane Society
“I’ve loved animals my entire life. While my sweet little Dutch hound Reddington is well taken care of, supporting an organization that rescues and cares for thousands of animals every year is so important to me.”
Jewish Community Services
“JCS is such a special organization to me. I have been a volunteer and supporter of JCS for many years. Their programs and services directly impact people’s lives in meaningful ways, from providing food security, domestic violence support, assisting Holocaust survivors, vocational training, therapeutic support, the list goes on and on. I am particularly passionate about helping indigent seniors in our community. I love JCS.”
Jewish National Fund
“I enjoy serving on the Miami Board of Directors of JNF. Since 1901, this organization has provided almost immeasurable support and growth to the people and land of Israel. It’s not just about planting millions of trees! While I enjoy doing work locally, on a recent trip to Israel, I had the opportunity to visit two JNF sites to see the actual work that is being done. Amazing.”
Greater Miami Jewish Federation
“I am a proud supporter of this seminal organization in Miami which provides funding for so many important programs that improve people’s lives locally and internationally. From volunteering at events, providing financial support and serving in leadership positions, being active in Federation is a part of who I am and who I will always be.”
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
“One of my dear friends battled lymphoma. She is a beautiful and strong person and thankfully was able to beat her cancer. I was touched by the amazing work this nonprofit does on behalf of cancer patients, caregivers and families. As a show of support over the years, I have done fundraisers and then ran one half marathon and one full marathon in honor of my friend. I am not a runner, so it was a big challenge and one I feel very proud of.”
University of Miami – Cancer Link
“As my mother is a breast cancer survivor, I am passionate about supporting Cancer Link. A dear client introduced me to the great work they do. Celebrating over 30 years, Cancer Link is an organization of dynamic women coming together to raise money and provide support for valuable research at the University of Miami. I’m happy to support such a wonderful local organization.”
Miami Rescue Mission
“Individually and as a team, we have supported this organization for years both with financial support as well as volunteering. If we can help those most vulnerable in our community, we are happy to do it.”
University of Miami Alumni Association
“From earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UM to being a former student-athlete and three-year letterman for the football team, UM and its athletic department are so important to me and always will be. I enjoy being a season ticket holder, an avid fan and a donor. Go CANES!”
Citrus Health Network
“Our whole team participates in a local community toy drive in partnership with the Florida Department of Children & Families that is dedicated to making sure children in foster care in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties receive a gift for the holidays. This is a very special program for us, and we look forward to participating every year.”
Financial Literacy Education
At Steckler Wealth Management Group, we have always been dedicated to providing financial literacy education to our clients’ children and grandchildren. We are proud to have helped spearhead and support a groundbreaking financial literacy initiative throughout all K-12 Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS).
As a result of our joint effort, a comprehensive financial literacy curriculum was made available to teachers and all students beginning with the 2016 school year.
We have also participated in events for Funding the Future, a nonprofit with the ambitious mission of teaching financial literacy to every student in America. We are very passionate about this work and our ongoing involvement in educating children so that they can make smart financial decisions.
