Conservative, pragmatic and proud of the way we do business

Legacy

On this page, we would like to honor those who have created and built this practice. As many of our longest tenured clients know, we were originally founded by Robert A. Hays Jr., who created a successful practice more than 60 years ago and who hired and trained our current principals many decades ago, when we were just starting out in theindustry. Those three young advisors, Janet Nichols, Greg Geegan and TJ King eventually became “NGK Family Wealth Advisors,” and our practice is run along the same principles of ethical conduct and exceptional client service that Bob Hays taught us all many years ago.

Decades have passed, the practice has grown exponentially, and those young advisors are now seasoned and successful individuals who have seen nearly every imaginable market environment and weathered the ups and downs with our clients throughout their lives. As we begin to build out our third generation of advisors (for our third and fourth and even fifth generation clients), we know that change is inevitable. And so it was that in February 2024, we said farewell to our friend and principal partner Greg Geegan, as he embarked on his next stage in life.

Over his thirty-seven years as a financial advisor Greg saw many changes to our industry. He was always a strong advocate for financial planning and active portfolio management, and he always sought out customized financial solutions for his clients in what has started to feel like a one-size-fits-all financial world. Although transitions on this scale can be very difficult to navigate, Greg was proud to be able to execute it in accordance with his philosophy of “leave it better than you found it.” That applies to both his clients’ financial well-being as well as the NGK practice that he helped create and work within for decades.

If you know Greg well, you will certainly know that there will be very little extra time in his days going forward. Along with some new leisure pursuits such as world travel, Greg has already joined his wife Diana in her successful real estate practice. Greg has held a real estate license since 1985 and has a background in architecture, construction, and design, all of which should allow him to continue to excel in his new endeavors. NGK will continue to grow and thrive, as it always has, but Greg, like Bob Hays, left a permanent mark on this practice, and that is indelible.
