Chris Boyd Named to Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Advisors List

Congratulations to Chris Boyd in our Nashville Gulch office for being named to Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Advisors List for the third year in a row!

Chris Boyd Named to Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Advisors List

Source: Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Advisors, October 2019. The Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Advisors is an independent listing produced annually by the Financial Times (October 2019). The Financial Times FT 401 Top Retirement Advisers award had 401 of the 770 advisor applicants being recognized as a Top Retirement Adviser. The FT asked large U.S. brokerages, independent advisors, and other wealth managers to identify qualified Direct Contribution (DC) plan advisor applicants. They partnered in research with Broadridge Financial Solutions who provided unique data from their proprietary database to help identify qualifying candidates. Financial advisors were required to manage $75 million or more in DC plan assets and have DC assets account for at least 20% of their total AUM. Qualifying advisors filled out an online application and questionnaire that gave the FT more information about their practices. The FT 401 is based on data gathered from advisors, regulatory disclosures, and the FT’s research. The listing reflects each advisor’s status in six primary areas: DC plan assets under management (AUM), DC AUM growth rate, specialization in DC plans, years of experience, advanced industry credentials and compliance record. Roughly 80 to 85 percent of the final score is based on DC plan AUM and growth in the DC plan business (measured by plan numbers and plan assets). Additionally, to provide a diversity of advisors, the FT places a cap on the number of advisors from any one state that's roughly correlated to the distribution of millionaires across the U.S. This honor is not indicative of the advisor’s future performance. Neither the advisors nor their parent firms pay a fee to the Financial Times in exchange for inclusion in the FT 401. Neither Raymond James nor any of its financial advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating.

Andrew Fowler

Click here to read the full article.

The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of 7 years of experience, and the algorithm weighs factors like revenue trends, AUM, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Out of 29,334 advisors nominated by their firms, 3,477 received the award. This ranking is not indicative of advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience. Neither Raymond James nor any of its Financial Advisors or RIA firms pay a fee in exchange for this award/rating. Raymond James is not affiliated with Forbes or Shook Research, LLC.

BURTON HILLS CONSOLIDATES WITH GULCH AND COOL SPRINGS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Raymond James is making changes to its real estate and management structure in the Nashville market to better accommodate associates and clients. The acquisition of Morgan Keegan in 2012 increased Raymond James’ brand in the market, but left associates fragmented geographically. The firm is excited to streamline its efforts by opening new locations and relocating employees.

Three existing branches in the Nashville area will merge at the site of a new Cool Springs branch, located just one floor above the previous Cool Springs location at 1550 W. McEwen Drive. This new branch office spans 9,827 square feet and will be completely remodeled before opening. An additional six advisors and two associates from the firm’s Burton Hills office will join the Cool Springs office upon consolidation, giving the new Cool Springs office a total of 16 advisors and eight branch associates with additional room for expansion.

The new Cool Springs branch will be led by branch manager Steve Crabtree. Crabtree joined Raymond James in 2008 after serving as branch manager for the J.C. Bradford & Co./UBS Financial Services office in Cool Springs.

“We are excited to increase Raymond James’ presence in Williamson County. Our clients and associates will both benefit when we consolidate our offices at the McEwen office building,” said Crabtree.

The remaining 16 Burton Hills associates moved to the complex’s Gulch Crossing location at 1033 Demonbreun Street in early March. The Gulch branch has expanded to an additional 5,000 square feet to accommodate the new arrivals. Nashville complex manager Andrew Fowler believes the consolidation of the two offices will introduce more collaboration opportunities, effectively streamline management and contribute to the overall growth and success of Raymond James.

Raymond James’ commitment to Tennessee - and to the Greater Nashville area in particular - is only growing stronger, a fact evidenced by the company’s expansion in the market over the past decade. In addition to the Gulch branch, the Nashville Complex encompasses branches in Franklin, Murfreesboro, Goodlettsville and Columbia, as well as a branch in Murray, Kentucky, with Fowler leading as complex manager. He feels the firm’s client-first perspective and longstanding stability will continue to have a positive impact in the area for years to come.

When asked about the Nashville moves, Fowler said, “We are excited Raymond James has made the financial commitment to the Nashville market. These moves signify the final demolition of the Morgan Keegan/Raymond James wall in Nashville, and I strongly believe our firm, our associates and (most importantly) our shareholders and clients will reap the long-term rewards of our consolidation and management changes,” said Fowler.

About Raymond James & Associates
Raymond James & Associates, Inc., member New York Stock Exchange/SIPC, which has built a national reputation for more than 50 years as a leader in financial planning for individuals, corporations and municipalities, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial, Inc. (NYSE-RJF), a leading diversified financial services company with approximately 7,500 financial advisors in 3,000 locations throughout the United States, Canada and overseas. Raymond James will donate $100,000 toward Hurricane Harvey relief

Just days after Category 4 Hurricane Harvey made landfall along the Texas coast, tens of thousands of people from Houston, southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana are still reeling from the impacts of the storm. Countless residents have been trapped in their flooding homes, while others escaped to local shelters, leaving their damaged homes behind. As rain is set to continue in the days ahead, the flooding will likely increase, with some areas receiving up to 50 inches of rainfall.

The effects of Hurricane Harvey have already been devastating, with countless people injured and the death toll rising. Houston, the fourth-largest city in the United States, has been engulfed by flooding. At this point, the amount of long-term damage to homes, businesses and government buildings throughout the area is unknown.

Teams like the American Red Cross have been working around the clock since the storm made impact to provide lifesaving shelter, meals, relief supplies and support to individuals and families in need.

It’s important to let those whose lives were affected by this severe weather know the rest of the country is here to help, too. To show our support, Raymond James will donate $100,000 toward Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in impacted areas. This donation will help provide rescue, shelter, food, relief items, emotional support and assistance to those in need.

The Raymond James Elves

This year, several employees worked together to adopt six children for Christmas, in lieu of exchanging gifts. Thanks to everyone's generous contributions (and a few of our elves who are great deal finders) we were able to give each child a warm winter jacket, hat, gloves, shoes, clothing, games, and lots of fun toys.

RAYMOND JAMES GIVES BACK

Raymond James Cares
Raymond James Cares is a firm-wide community service program designed to centralize and track new and existing community service efforts by advisors and associates. The firm supports this initiative throughout the year but spotlights it annually by declaring August "Raymond James Cares Month". This year, our branch collected food items and over $580 for Little Guys Foundation and the Patty Dunn Memorial Back Pack Attack Program.

The Little Guys Foundation provides a food pantry for families in Robertson and Sumner Counties in Middle Tennessee. On average forty families are served each month by this organization and this figure has steadily climbed over the summer months.

The Patty Dunn Memorial Backpack Attack Program provides backpacks of food to students in the Robertson County school system who have been identified as being at risk of having little or nothing to eat over the weekends. In the 2012-2013 school year over 100,000 meals and snacks were provided to students.

Raymond James donates $50,000 to the East Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross

This winter, a band of severe weather swept through Tennessee and the surrounding region, leaving much of the state without power for almost two weeks. The extreme weather created dangerous road conditions, freezing temperatures and sadly claimed the lives of 30 people. Tennessee declared a state of emergency February 16 through March 6.

The American Red Cross is providing medical support, meals and personal comfort items to people impacted by the winter storms. It's important to let those whose lives were affected by the severe weather and accompanying power outages know that the rest of the country is here to help, too.

To show our support, Raymond James is donating $50,000 to the East Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and assistance to those in need. If you would like to help, I encourage you to make a donation - of any amount - through your local Red Cross chapter (redcross.org or 1-800-RED-CROSS) or another relief organization of your choice.

Raymond James is not affiliated with the American Red Cross.
