ADVANCED EXPERTISE FOR THE HIGH-NET-WORTH INVESTOR

The benefits of working with a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) professional

In today’s complex financial world, selecting the right wealth manager can be a challenge. The CPWA® certification makes it much simpler.

Granted by the Investments & Wealth Institute™ (Institute), the CPWA® certification means you’re working with someone at the forefront of advanced wealth management trends and strategies. Advisors who have earned the CPWA® credential have the specialized knowledge and skills to guide sophisticated clients through the accumulation, preservation, and distribution of wealth. As a CPWA® certificant, your Raymond James advisor can help navigate even the most intricate financial issues.

THE FOUR E’S

When you work with a CPWA® professional, you work with an advanced wealth manager and advisor who has successfully completed the extensive experience, education, examination, and ethics requirements of the certification program.

THE CURRICULUM

The CPWA® certification is not required in order to provide financial advice. This means that your advisor has made a voluntary investment to better help individual and institutional clients meet their goals and objectives. The curriculum for CPWA® certification is delivered by faculty and practitioners from one of the nation’s top business schools. To maintain their certification, CPWA® professionals must also adhere to a strict ethical code of professional responsibility and complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Sophisticated investors recognize that increasing financial complexities call for objectivity, experience and expert evaluation. The CPWA® certification program teaches advisors how to identify and analyze the challenges you face and develop specific strategies to minimize taxes, monetize and protect assets, maximize growth and transfer your wealth.

When selecting a wealth manager, consider the following:

CREDENTIALS - CPWA® professionals have passed a background check, met experience requirements, completed an extensive initial education program, passed a comprehensive exam, agreed to adhere to a code of professional responsibility and maintain 40 hours of continuing education every two years.

BACKGROUND - CPWA® professionals must demonstrate five years of client-centered experience and spend a material amount of their business hours working directly with high-net-worth clients.

COMPENSATION - Knowing what you’re paying for and how you’re paying for it is important for any investor. By adhering to the Institute’s Code of Professional Responsibility, CPWA® professionals will disclose in full all services provided as well as compensation received.

CHEMISTRY - Like any relationship, you should feel good about the advisor with whom you’re working. Selecting a Raymond James advisor who is a CPWA® professional is a good first step, followed by considering interpersonal connection and comfort level.
