OUR PROCESS

In any industry—really, in any part of life—it’s important to have a process, a series of steps designed to easily and systematically help address your goals. We take the same approach to financial planning. We know that having a developed, time-tested system is the best way to work with our clients. And at the same time, we know our process should be applied differently to each individual, each story, and each situation. Our process comes down to these four steps:

Understand

The first meeting is, in many ways, the most important one. It’s where we listen and get to know you. We want to hear your story, your goals, and your history with financial planning and investing. Why do we listen? Because we truly care—so much that we think of you as more than a client. We’re partners; and a solid foundation can only be created by listening to what you desire and understanding what drives you in life.

Design

The next step is to design the plan that works best for you. There are two things you should know about our truly plan-based approach. We seek to surpass what technology can provide by introducing the human element into the equation, and we create innovative plans that are catered to each person. We look at the whole picture, not just pieces. We look at all aspects of your financial future, like estate planning or the differences between Roth IRAs and traditional IRAs. Then, based on our research, we’ll construct a suitable portfolio. We’re also happy to work alongside other professionals (such as lawyers or CPAs) to most effectively meet your needs.

Implement

At this point, we will only move forward if it’s what you desire. We care about your satisfaction and are willing to do everything we can to make sure you’re comfortable and content. If so, we’ll implement the plan, opening and transferring accounts, and handling all administrative details and paperwork.

Review

Of course, financial planning is not something we set and forget. You’ll be informed every step of the way so you know as much about your plan as we do. During our regular meetings we’ll cover progress, discuss changes, and update you accordingly. We keep no secrets. You can ask questions and get feedback on any aspect of your plan and how it’s working. We’ll also use this time to cover any major life changes. If the change warrants, we can alter the plan or make a smart, appropriate recommendation.

From the beginning to the end, we listen. We’re accessible. We consider ourselves partners the whole way through. At Guide Point Financial Partners, our professionals offer the close, personal assistance you should expect, and we’re confident that it will help you feel comfortable for what’s ahead.

Mark and Kelly’s story

Wanting to protect their investments from the risk of a health event, such as a lengthy stay in a nursing home, Mark and Kelly came to us with many questions. And we were happy to answer them. Together, we compared different long-term care policies against self-funding the cost of care. Ultimately, they decided getting coverage was the best route to take. We meet with Mark and Kelly frequently. And we’re happy that they’re still in good health. We’re also comforted knowing that if their health does take a turn, they’ll have a plan in place.

Tim and Angela’s story

With a successful art studio to their name, Tim and Angela enjoyed their time at work and their time together. But their estate was in question. That’s why they came to us. We talked through the services available – and talked through their tax planning needs. Today, Tim and Angela understand that it’s never too early to have a plan. And, since we strive to simplify the process, we are confident they understand the details of theirs.
