Addressing each of Eileen’s estate planning needs

Losing a spouse is never easy, but on top of the staggering grief Eileen felt after her husband’s passing, she was also presented with a set of administrative complexities to manage. Having been an employee at a local university, he left Eileen a state-run pension. Our team sought to lift some of the burden off of Eileen during this trying time and helped her to understand her benefit options and how they could work alongside Social Security and Medicare once she turned 65 and got her enrolled in the program of her choice.

Once we helped Eileen make sure she had the benefits she needed, we did a complete review of her estate plan. Eileen had been dissatisfied with her family’s attorney, so we introduced her to a different one who we trusted and had experience collaborating with. Working together with Eileen and her new attorney, we updated her trust documents and helped her retitle some of her assets to include her extended family to her wishes.
