Michael Bradford Garrison began his investment career in 1983 and was immediately drawn to the personalized nature of work in financial planning. He joined Thomson McKinnon Securities in 1984 as a financial consultant and later founded his own practice in 1989 which became Garrison Financial Inc.

Michael earned his Certified Financial Planner™ professional designation in 2006. He was a Chartered Financial Consultant, a Municipal Securities Principle, a General Securities Principle and established Garrison Financial Inc as its own Registered Investment Advisory (RIA). Michael is the creator of The Financial Freedom Navigator™, a holistic and highly disciplined approach to investment and wealth management. He is the founder of The Charitable Partners Program™ for charitably conscious investors focusing on helping distressed families through (HECH) The Harwich Ecumenical Council for the homeless in Harwich, Massachusetts. Working with his wife Melanie, Michael built a family practice for over 30 years. His son Greenleaf initially joined the practice in 1997 and re-joined as a partner in 2010.

After 40 years in the industry, Michael retired in 2023 granting Greenleaf the role of owner and CEO of Garrison Financial Inc.
