Richard E. Byrd III Managing Director

Dick is a co-founder of Boston Capital Wealth Management. He entered the investment business in 1978 with Tucker Anthony & R.L. Day, a boutique client-oriented broker/dealer, and, in 1996, he moved with his clients to Cowen & Company – a New York- and Boston-based research, private client retail and institutional firm. Upon Cowen’s purchase in 2000 by Lehman Brothers, Dick moved his practice to Morgan Stanley for 15 years, where he was senior vice president and a member of the President’s Council*.

Dick, Suzanne and their team joined Raymond James in 2016 with a vision to recreate, through Boston Capital Wealth Management, the boutique mentality, where clients – whether families, individuals, companies or investment professionals – find superb service, well-thought-out investment research advice, portfolio management and, where prudent, referral.

Dick graduated from Harvard University in 1971. He is a past alumni director, a member of the “Happy” committee and a lifetime member of the Harvard Varsity Club. He also previously served as the graduate treasurer of the Delphic Club.

He is a 1967 graduate and past trustee of Noble and Greenough School, where he served on the investment committee. He has been on the board of his local church and Tufts New England Medical Center. He is a former board member of the Vinalhaven Land Trust in Maine, currently serving on the investment committee.

Dick enjoys sailing and picnicking in Maine, playing golf, and has become an avid hiker of our national parks. He is a founder (1998), GM and defenseman for the Former Legends of Hockey.
