What Happens Next?

For stocks, the 2nd quarter of 2022 was pretty rough. The S&P 500 got hit for -16.1% from April through June.

Is there any hope?

Below, thanks to Ben Carlson, is a list of the 20 worst quarters for stocks since 1926…..and what happened next.

  • Historically, an average gain 1 year later of +18.6%.
  • 3 years later? +39.8%
  • 5 years later? +65.1%
  • 10 years later? +122.2%

While nobody at all can predict exactly what will happen or when, we do know that periods of misery have mostly been followed by periods of incredible gains.
