Having lived primarily in Kansas City and Chicago through his formative years, Russ brings a strong foundation of Midwestern values to his financial planning practice and the community.
Russ’ community involvement includes serving as a Director for the Special Needs Children's Ministry of Ascension Catholic Church, Boca Raton, FL. The mission of this ministry is to: "Create and Convey a Loving, Supportive and Nourishing Environment to Disheartened Families and Children with Special Needs in an Effort to Restore and Reinforce Faith and Hope". Russ was pleased to announce the Ministry has been named a "Top 20 Special Needs Resource" by South Florida Parenting Magazine. The Ministry is inter-denominational and all are welcomed. Recognizing a need in the community for a judgment free and nourishing educational environment for children with autism, Russ and his wife, Anamaria, got together with two other families and co-founded Oakstone Academy Palm Beach in 2010. In his service to the children and families at Oakstone Academy Palm Beach (OAPB), Russ has served as Board Chair and as an active parent and advocate to children with disabilities.
Russ is a former Director for Elder Quality of Life, Inc., Palm Beach. EQOL is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assuring a reasonable quality of life for Palm Beach County’s low income seniors who may be alone and in need of care, monitoring, financial assistance, facility placement and fiduciary services, among others.
Russ' experience as a community volunteer includes having served with the Kansas State Department of Wildlife and Parks as an Instructor for the Hunter Education and Safety Program. The Kansas Hunter Education program teaches individuals to be ethical, safe and knowledgeable with the outdoors. The course consists of subjects covering responsibility, ethics, fair chase, field safety and boat safety, among others.
Russ was recently featured in The Florida Catholic and the Sun Sentinel for his contributions to The Special-Needs Children’s Ministry of Ascension Parish.
