Raymond James hires veteran banker Patrick McCarthy as co-head of Healthcare Finance group

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James announced that Patrick McCarthy has joined the firm’s Healthcare Finance group as a managing director and co-head based in the firm’s New York City office. With more than 30 years of investment banking experience focused exclusively on the healthcare sector, he will provide sophisticated counsel to hospitals, integrated delivery systems and academic medical centers across the country.

McCarthy joins Raymond James from Wells Fargo, where he most recently served as the head of not-for-profit healthcare investment banking, after spending most of his career at Goldman Sachs as a managing director in the tax-exempt healthcare group. McCarthy has extensive experience structuring and executing bond transactions, interest rate swaps and strategic merger and acquisition transactions for both community-based hospitals and multi-state healthcare systems. In addition, he has worked closely with a wide array of management teams and boards to provide strategic, credit and capital planning advisory services for numerous healthcare issuers throughout the country.
