Raymond James expands European healthcare investment banking practice with two senior hires

LONDON - Raymond James is further expanding the capabilities of its Healthcare Investment Banking Practice with the hiring of two senior bankers to drive growth of the firm’s European franchise. Joining the firm’s Germany offices as managing directors are Dierk Beyer, Ph.D., in Frankfurt and Tobias Levedag in Munich.

“Dierk and Tobias are tremendously talented bankers who will team with David Stubbs in London to increase the strength of our Healthcare franchise in Europe,” said Allan Bertie, head of European Investment Banking. “Reflective of the needs of our clients, our sector-focused bankers in Europe think and act globally while working collaboratively across borders to deliver deep insights, top-tier execution, and meaningful results to our clients. We’re pleased to have Dierk and Tobias join us as we continue to thoughtfully grow our platform.”

Beyer has more than 25 years of healthcare-sector experience with advisory work in M&A, product licensing / partnering and fundraising projects for a global client base. He joins Raymond James from Cowen and was a partner in the life sciences practice at Quarton International before it was purchased by Cowen. Other previous experience includes being the founding partner of TransAct Advisory Services as well as having been with The Boston Consulting Group for almost 10 years. Beyer holds a Ph.D. from the Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research.

Levedag has more than 15 years of investment banking experience and also joins from the healthcare practice at Cowen. Other previous experience includes nine years at GCA Altium and four years at Deutsche Bank. Levedag studied law at King's College in London and completed an MBA at Columbia Business School with a concentration in finance.

The U.S. healthcare team has expanded significantly, adding 17 senior bankers in the last 16 months supporting multiple coverage areas. These European-based hires are the next step in building out global sector-specific capabilities within the Healthcare group.
