What is going on in the markets? Is this your first question when you get up each morning? If so, we need to talk. If not, good, but we should still talk. Information is good to have but it is also good to make sure you are receiving it from a trustworthy source. Sometimes our neighbor mentions how well things are going for their investment portfolios and sometimes it’s our dentist that starts giving us stock tips. Whatever the source, make sure it is reliable.
I don’t expect that you know every detail of what has been going on with investments when we chat. That’s our job to know and relay that information to you, as well as how that affects your goals, portfolio, and individual investments. However, sometimes it’s nice to hear a tidbit here and there. When your dentist or neighbor starts telling you bitcoin is the way to go, don’t take that to heart, and ask us what we think. That is what you hired us for.
Outside of a phone call or email to us, we have great resources for you to get updates. On our website (www.kindredfinancialpartners.com) under the “Client Experience” tab, there is a link “News & Events.” That will pull up a few links to click on that take you to commentaries by Larry Adam, Raymond James’ Chief Investment Officer. There is another link that will take you to other Raymond James experts’ thoughts on the economy and policies that might affect the markets. Outside of our website, you can go to www.raymondjames.com, and click on “Commentary & Insights” for other views from Raymond James. There are lots of reliable resources here right at your fingertips.
Outside of Raymond James, you might consider reading articles from The Wall Street Journal or The New York Times for some different investment perspectives. If you prefer to listen rather than read, here are a few quality newscasts and podcasts that provide some useful information.
NPR’s Marketplace – easy to understand evening news show and also comes in a podcast.
Raymond James podcasts – “For What It’s Worth” & “Markets in Focus” – both cover different topics in about 20-30 minutes.
Be wary of some of the TV programs or online articles – make sure the source is dependable and not trying to sell you something.
Most of all, know that we are here to help and answer your questions. We are your go to source and want to know what is on your mind.
