Thanksgiving 2024
So far, 2024 has turned out to be an eventful year. It’s been a leap year. We had a total solar eclipse. It was an Olympic year, and the US excelled. Bill Belichick got fired. AI became a thing. The Chiefs won another Super Bowl. Caitlin Clark joined the NBA and became perhaps the biggest sensation in sports.
Taylor Smith set all sorts of records and got a boyfriend. The stock market roared. Oh, and we had an election after two assassination attempts on one candidate and the other dropped out, handing off to his VP. Not surprisingly, she lost.
In about a year, one half of the country will be able to say to the other half, “See, I told you so”.
But this message is not about politics, this is about gratitude.
This year, as always, I am grateful for my friends and family. I’ve been blessed with a great wife and great kids, a wonderful extended family and many, many fantastic friends.
I’m grateful to live in the most underrated town in America and to be a charter member of Bills Mafia. Not many cities this size have not just one, but two pro sports teams. We have many of the desirable aspects of bigger cities, but with affordable housing and no traffic.
I am of course still very grateful to be an American. I strongly believe our best days are still ahead of us. Technology and innovation have the potential to transform our existence for the better as never before. America leads the way there. We really could be entering a sort of golden age thanks to the transformations made possible by AI.
Finally, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have served you all. A career that I happened into has brought so many rewards. Chief among them has been going on that American Dream journey together. Wouldn’t trade that for anything.
Happy Thanksgiving!
