John Hutchinson
Trust is at the center of John Hutchinson’s relationships with his clients. They know he is accessible at any time, all hours, to discuss their investments and financial plans, and that he is glad to do it.
Since launching his career in 1968, John has guided his clients through many business cycles, and has experience identifying opportunities and risk that align with his client’s goals. As a long-practicing financial advisor, he is able to identify the contours of his client’s lives that shape their financial futures and current needs.
John comes from a family of medical doctors, but after a college job with an investment firm, his path became clear. He has been in Boise since 1977 after moving from Seattle, Washington, to found his own practice.
John has been with Raymond James since 2019, choosing the firm based on its client-first culture approach to service.
Throughout his life he has served in a number of leadership roles in civic and philanthropic organizations, including the Pacific Northwest Research Institute and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (which is named in memory of his uncle) in Seattle, and the Boise Art Museum, Friends of Zoo Boise and Crane Creek Country Club, all in Boise. He has also been a deacon at his church, First Presbyterian Church of Boise.
He is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where he met his wife Bonnie. The couple have three children and seven grandchildren, and have been married for over 50 years.
In his leisure time, John has always been an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. He was his university’s intramural athlete of the year in 1968, and was a nationally ranked squash player in the 1970s, he also hunted and played racquetball and baseball. The outdoors continues to be an important part of his life, as he enjoys skiing, fishing and golfing.
Raymond James is not affiliated with the above organizations and/or charitable causes.
