A Month of Thanks

As I write this we are about a week from Thanksgiving. Which may be my favorite holiday of the year. A lot has happened this month. We had a massive election. No matter the outcome and whether you are happy or upset, we can be thankful that it will be a peaceful transition. This is important as most democracies have failed because of election transitions. I am thankful for the peaceful transition.

I just got back from a trip to Arizona and San Diego. Jill and I went with my sister and my parents to visit my dad’s brother and wife in Yuma. It is the first time they had been there. They handled the plane trip well. Thank you Delta! We then visited San Diego and specifically the USS Midway aircraft carrier. It is truly an amazing experience. My dad is a veteran so he really enjoyed it even though he could not walk in all areas. The ship is named after the most important navy battle of WW 2. In the span of six minutes the US fortunes in the war changed. During that time, we sank 3 Japanese carriers (a fourth was sunk a few hours later) thus changing everything in the Pacific. Thank you to those brave men who changed the tide of the war. Thank you also to all our veterans!

Finally, with Thanksgiving next week it is a time of reflection. I am thankful for my wife, children, family and friends. Life is a gift, and we are here for such a short time, we need to be aware of how we act. During the holiday season be kind, helpful, forgiving, tolerant, respectful and considerate of others.

I wish you all a joyous holiday season however you celebrate.

Take care and be well,
