Raymond James hires Public Finance Banker Hector Matos to head Texas School District Practice

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James is expanding its public finance capabilities in Texas by hiring veteran education finance professional Hector Matos as managing director to lead the state’s school district practice. Matos will provide professional counsel to K-12 school districts throughout Texas and will establish an office in San Antonio, the firm’s fourth public finance office in the state.

Matos joins Raymond James after seven years with Citigroup, where he was the lead or co-lead banker on over $19 billion in Texas school district underwritings. He previously was a public school district business official for 23 years at multiple independent school districts (ISDs), including San Antonio ISD, Northside ISD, Del Valle ISD, Roma ISD as well as Regional Service Center 20. Matos holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Puerto Rico, a Texas CPA license and his Series 52 and 63. He is active with the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). Matos served in the U.S. Army for eight years before entering education finance.
