Raymond James hires Josh Beck as senior internet analyst
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James has hired Josh Beck as a managing director and senior research analyst in the firm’s Equity Research department. Beck will cover the Internet sector, including online advertising, e-commerce, and marketplaces, with a particular focus on the implications of artificial intelligence (AI).
“Josh’s thematic and deep-dive approach to research is well-suited to covering such a large and dynamic sector,” said Brian Alexander, director of equity research. “We look forward to him being a thought leader in the transformative area of AI, as its capabilities and impact on the business world continue to grow. Josh takes a highly thematic approach to research, identifying major secular shifts in the earlier stages of adoption and then engaging in a variety of primary research activities – including surveys, extensive channel checks and expert calls – to formulate his investment thesis.”
Beck joins Raymond James after 12 years at KeyBanc Capital Markets and Pacific Crest Securities where he focused on analyzing the impact of mobile and cloud technology cycles across the Internet, Software and FinTech ecosystem. Before joining the sell side, he spent time in corporate finance, development and strategy roles at T-Mobile. He earned an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Virginia Tech, where he graduated cum laude.
