Certified Pill Detector

Whenever our 7-year-old Shih Tzu, Ozzie, must take medication we try to hide it inside a treat. Ozzie has a knack for finding the pill -no matter how small or how deeply embedded within a piece of hamburger- he will fish it out. Not only does he find the pill, but he also often spits it out in one piece…picture a Pez dispenser- tongue shoots out and pill drops to the floor.

Ozzie has become so adept at sniffing out his medicine that we have bestowed upon him the title of a Certified Pill Finder. If Ozzie had a business card it would read, Osvaldo Easley, CPD® (Certified Pill Detector ®.)

Although Ozzie did not follow a structured curriculum that culminated in an extensive exam to obtain this designation, I believe that the last 7 years of his active pill reconnaissance missions has earned him the right to carry his badge of a CPD®.

In the world of finance, the CFP®, designation is the foundation and the gold standard designation for a Financial Planner. Only 29% of financial advisors in the United States have achieved the CFP®.

The requisite study time to obtain the CFP® is a minimum of 250 hours which culminates in a very arduous two-day 8-hour test. I am proud to share that I achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ title in 2007.

In 2022, I began the process of attaining the Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®.) The CPWA® certification is for experienced financial professionals who work with high-net-worth individuals.

Anyone pursuing the CPWA® designation must meet these five requirements:

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must hold one of the following licenses or designations: CIMA, RMA, CFA, CFP®, ChFC or CPA.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in the financial field.
  • Must have acceptable record with the Investments & Wealth Institutes’ Admissions Committee.
  • Must complete a Private Wealth Essentials course from the Investments and Wealth Institute

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I am delighted to announce that after a year of study I recently took the extremely challenging exam and passed. I have added the CPWA® to my CFP®.

I am grateful to serve such a select group of dynamic and uniquely successful clients and I appreciate the trust you place in me.

Mahalo and Happy Holidays from Taylor Easley, CFP®, CPWA® and Osvaldo Easley, CPD®
