Raymond James Hires Veteran Investment Banker John Barrymore for Consumer Practice
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Raymond James has hired John Barrymore as a Managing Director in the firm’s Consumer Investment Banking practice. Barrymore will focus on the firm’s efforts in the rapidly growing Food, Nutrition & Consumer Health sectors, an area in which he has worked exclusively during his 22-year career.

Barrymore adds to an already strong lineup of Managing Directors in the Raymond James Consumer Investment Banking space, including Mark Goodman (U.S. Consumer Group Head), Jay Eastman (U.S. Consumer Products / Retail), Brian Boyle (U.S. Food & Beverage), Robert Arnold (U.S. Restaurants), Monika Nickl and Dirk Damegger (European Consumer Banking), and Glenn Gatcliffe (Canadian Consumer Banking).

Barrymore comes to Raymond James from Duff & Phelps in New York, where he spent the past five years leading that firm’s food and nutrition M&A practice. During his tenure at Duff & Phelps, he built a practice that consistently ranked among the top advisors in food and nutrition industry M&A. Prior to Duff & Phelps, Barrymore founded 6Pacific Group, a merchant-banking firm focused on advising and investing in food, nutrition and consumer health companies. During his investment banking career, he has been involved in numerous significant industry transactions while representing family-held businesses, private equity firms and global corporations on buy-side, sell-side and capital raising transactions.
Barrymore has broad experience in cross-border transactions and maintains active relationships with clients around the world, particularly in Europe, China, Japan and Australia. Prior to founding 6Pacific Group, he held various leadership roles at BMO Capital Markets, Piper Jaffray & Co. and DLJ/CSFB.
A graduate of Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Studies, Barrymore also received his Indian Certificate from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
