The Sharing Economy: Michael Munger and the Creative Destruction of Capitalism
08.02.2024
This week Drew sits down with economist Michael Munger to discuss his book "The Sharing Economy." Michael Munger has worked as a staff economist for the Federal Trade Commission during the Reagan Administration and taught at Dartmouth College, the University of Texas at Austin, and UNC-Chapel Hill before becoming a political science professor at Duke University in 1997. In 2000, he became the head of Duke's political science department. In his book, Munger has proposed the beginnings of a third economic revolution, something akin to the gig-economy, that could come into fruition through the increased sharing of durable goods such as tools. This is an incredibly exciting and thought provoking episode. Listen on to discover the inner workings and practical effects of this economic trend.
