It's 11 o'clock

It’s 11 o’clock, does your family know where all the assets and documents are?

The local 11:00 pm newscast back in the 70’s always started with “It’s 11 o’clock, do you know where your children are?”

On a more serious note, should something happen unexpectedly in our lives, do the right people know the what and where re: the important documents they would need?

And are the documents in a safe but accessible place? Are they up to date with any family or life changes? Do they know who they should contact in such an event?

My wife has asked me to write down the people she needs to call and the phone numbers, account numbers, passwords and values of the various entities she would need to access. Why I put it off I don’t know, but I finally did it. Now, where do we store this information and these documents and do the right people know how to access them?

All of this is the no fun part of being financially organized but can bear huge fruit for our families when the unexpected happens.

We all plan to live a long life and prefer to spend time on more uplifting thoughts. But having a clear plan that is communicated, documented and accessible is a very helpful to our loved ones when things don’t go as we had planned.

We can provide you with a checklist of the important documents you need and Raymond James has a way to safely store them. Raymond James offers its clients the “vault” which is a service to digitally store your important documents, list of assets, special instructions and a list of usernames, passwords etc. And you control who has access to your vault at Raymond James.

Again, this is not something we all enjoy doing. But having witnessed families that had this organization as well as families that didn’t, it is truly a great service to your family.

Please let us know if you would like for us to provide you the checklist of documents and information that each family should have, as well as how the Raymond James Vault can help with the safe storage of these documents.

Hope you and your family have a great 4th of July holiday!

As always, thank you for your trust and confidence.
