March 2023 - The Dangers of Cancel Culture and the New Woke Movement

The dangers of Cancel Culture & the Woke movement threaten everything our founding forefathers fought to create - a democracy of the people and by the people. A democracy where capitalism allows anyone the opportunity to better their position in life. This Cancel Culture movement along with Woke-nomics is not progressive but regressive and dangerously divisive. Freedom of Speech is embedded and protected in the 1st Amendment of our Bill of Rights. Freedom of thought and speech in public forums and open debates is what defines our democratic process, not intervention by elites or CEOs of large corporations wielding their economic might to beat others into submission. Some politicians and CEOs have teamed up and went as far as to threaten a person / group / or corporation’s economic livelihood unless they come into alignment with the views held by those in power. On the surface Woke-ism can seem harmless and good with claims of making the world a better place until further examination. In the book entitled “Woke, Inc.” Vivek Ramaswamy outlines the con job being perpetrated on society that is taking Wall Street by storm. The author of this book goes on to point out that “Once the American public becomes ‘woke’ to this new trend of self-interest masquerading as morality, our citizens and consumers will be able to see through the charade of corporate virtue signaling.” The power should lie in the hands of The People to establish our own social values and govern ourselves, through the democracy our forefathers fought hard and sacrificed much to give us. However, this power has been hijacked by politicians and corporate elites promising to save us and to save the world. Every voice should be heard and every vote at the ballot box should count. Instead, our voices and our votes are being drowned out. Goldman-Sachs often boasts “Whoever has the gold makes all the rules.” China and Saudi Arabia have cracked the code of stakeholder capitalism. Cancel Culture & Woke-nomics threatens to do to the same to us here in America. The rules of morality itself are now up for sale and you will not find a more powerful stakeholder than a wealthy authoritarian government.
