Yeah, right … goofy idea, like stepping in front of a bus. The days of civil discourse. i.e., Firing Line with William F. Buckley, Jr., are long gone. America has become the Jerry Springer Show. It’s a shame, because the Buckley format was all about making ‘us’ better, not just ‘us vs. them’.
This month my focus is on the lighter side and the longer term. I hope you enjoy this ‘baker’s dozen’ of bite-sized perspectives on politics and human nature.

“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.” – Mark Twain
“The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” – Winston Churchill
“Never argue with stupid people. They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.” – Mark Twain
“Although it’s fine to have a political affiliation, that should never replace your desire for objective truth and knowledge.” – Katherine Tempf
