WHO?
Last month I discussed my process of addressing issues by asking the questions ‘WHAT, WHY, WHEN, HOW, and WHERE’. This month wraps up with ‘WHO’.
Who do we listen to?
Who do we trust?
Who provides insight?
Who shapes our worldview?
It pays to evaluate and understand the motivations, qualifications, expertise, and character of the people we follow. For insight into all things that affect our lives (i.e. investing, government policies, global events, etc.), I follow a diverse group of veterans from within the investing community. These people are intelligent, experienced, evidence-based, well-informed, objective, and able to reach conclusions from a broad array of inputs. Importantly, not one is a politician. None serves as a cheerleader for a political base.
Who’s on this team of thinkers? The lineup, in no particular order:
Warren Buffett – Berkshire Hathaway
Howard Marks – Oaktree Capital Management
Stan Druckenmiller – Duquesne Family Office
This is the gameday lineup. There are additional names on the farm team. As thinkers, all are major leaguers. Think New York Yankees circa 1927. I greatly appreciate these people for helping me help you, my clients.
