David Ness is Chief Trust Officer of Raymond James Trust N.A., a subsidiary of Raymond James Financial, Inc. (NYSE-RJF). Mr. Ness graduated from Bradley University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He earned his Juris Doctor from Marquette University, Milwaukee, in 1982. Mr. Ness then earned his certified public accountant designation in 1987 and the Certified Financial Planner™ certification in 1992. He also graduated from the Securities Industry Institute Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1998.
In 1989, Mr. Ness joined Raymond James & Associates, Inc., member New York Stock Exchange/SIPC, as vice president of the Financial Planning Department. Currently, Mr. Ness is a member of the advisory boards of the Community Foundation of Greater St. Petersburg and the Pinellas County, Florida, chapter of the American Cancer Society. He has also published a book and numerous articles on financial planning.
Mr. Ness is a past chairman and past president of the Tampa Bay chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners and also served as treasurer and a member of the board of The Florida Orchestra. He was also a member of the board of the United Way of Tampa Bay.
Originally from Chicago, Mr. Ness and his wife, Theresa, reside in Safety Harbor, Florida, and have two daughters, Sarah and Samantha.
