Press ReleaseRelease No. 0107-04
RAYMOND JAMES FINANCIAL SERVICES ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – In September 2006, when William C. (Bill) Van Law III, CFP®, joined Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., (RJFS) as senior vice president and national director of business development, his first priority was to build a regional model of recruiters strategically located throughout the country. He stated at the time that he was, “looking for the best of our industry’s professional recruiters to grow with this extraordinary effort.” With the recent hiring of four new recruiters and an administrative manager Van Law has taken the second step in fulfilling that goal – the first being the hiring of Nestor Gonzales in October as a business development consultant in the firm’s Western Region. New to RJFS are: Ronald J. Singer, northeast regional director of business development based in Millburn, N.J.; Kimberly Hollenbeck, business development consultant based in Denver, Colo.; Fred McGinnis business development consultant based in San Antonio, Texas; Jodi Perry, business development consultant based in the firm’s St. Petersburg, Fla. home office; and Paul Martin, administrative manager for the business development division also based in the home office. Prior to joining RJFS, Ron Singer built, owned and operated PROPLACE LLC, a recruiting search firm specializing in the placement of financial advisors. A 1984 graduate of Indiana University, Ron worked as a CPA for Main Hurdman in New York City while earning his MBA in taxation from Pace University. He then began a career on Wall Street as a retail broker from 1986 to 2001, starting at Prudential Bache and finishing at Merrill Lynch. As director of RJFS’ Northeast Region he is the first of six regional directors to be appointed and joins business development consultant John Hanlon already established in the area. Kimberly Hollenback brings to Raymond James over 10 years of industry experience, most recently as a recruiter for 1st Global. She is an accomplished financial advisor and Certified Financial Planner certificant with a proven record of recruiting successful financial advisors. In addition to 1st Global, Kimberly also has worked with GCG Financial, AIG Valic Financial Advisors and as an independent financial advisor managing an OSJ branch office for Geneos Wealth Management. A past member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, a registered principal with the NASD holding numerous securities and insurance licenses, she is an active member of the Financial Planning Association and serves on its education committee for the Colorado chapter. Kimberly will recruit primarily in the firm’s Southwest Region, which includes Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana, with some additional responsibilities for recruiting in the Western and Northern Regions as well. Fred McGinnis joins the firm with over 20 years experience as a securities firm branch manager and NASD arbitrator, committee member and speaker. Born in Houston, Fred earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and began his career with E.F. Hutton in 1982 as an account executive. Based in San Antonio, Fred also will join the southwestern recruiting team with some responsibility in adjacent regions while those teams are being built. Jodi L. Perry returns to Raymond James after a six-month absence, during which time she recruited for 1st Global. Prior to that Jodi spent 12 years with Raymond James in a variety of positions including business development consultant, internal sales manager and pricing department supervisor. Jodi earned her bachelor’s degree in business management at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg. While based at the home office, Jodi will have recruiting responsibilities in the Southeast and Gulf States regions. Paul Martin joins RJFS from Raymond James & Associates (RJ&A) where he was an administrative manager in the Private Client Group. Paul has almost 10 years experience with RJ&A in a variety of roles including transition management, Investor Access and employee trading and services. He earned an MBA from the University of Tampa, holds many securities licenses and is a Wealth Management Specialist. He will work in conjunction with the business development consultants in support of the recruiting process while managing both the business development associates and support specialists. “These new team members exemplify the high caliber associate being invited to join the RJFS team,” said Van Law. “As business development consultants for the company they will be seeking only the most experienced, top quality financial advisors to come grow their business within the Raymond James family.
