Professionally Speaking
Retirement Income Planning Is an Ongoing Process
A couple retiring at 65 years of age has a 50 percent chance of at least one spouse living to 90. The prospect of a 25-year or longer retirement makes planning an ongoing process, and setting things up correctly early can have significant benefits, says Raymond James Director of Private Client Group Planning Shannon Reid in this edition of Professionally Speaking hosted by Larry Pugliese.
Understanding the differences between needs and wants – and recognizing the nuances of each – is an important first step. “Advisors and their clients who have already had the savings and accumulation conversation know the next phase is how to take those assets and translate them into a sustainable income stream,” says Shannon.
